Perfil público y selfies publicados (Kyoru Pro, opcional)

Borrar tus datos y tus derechos

Kyoru Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Kyoru is made by Federico García-Lorca Hernández, an independent developer in Madrid (“I”). Your journal is private: it lives on your iPhone and in your iCloud, and I can’t see it. Other people only see what you choose to publish on a public profile.

  • No analytics, ads or tracking. Kyoru includes no analytics or advertising SDKs and doesn’t read your device’s advertising identifier.
  • No separate account. There is no sign-up: Kyoru uses your iCloud session.
  • Photos are analysed on your iPhone. No photo is sent to a server of mine.
  • Third parties: Apple (iCloud/CloudKit, geocoding, App Store) and RevenueCat (subscription). My own server is only involved in moderating public content.

What data the app uses, and where it ends up

Your selfies and photos

What forThey are the daily challenge and the raw material for the analysis.

WhereOn your iPhone and in the app’s private iCloud Drive container (your iCloud). If you publish a selfie to your public profile, a processed copy (black and white, with the world tinted and your stickers) and its thumbnail are uploaded to the app’s public CloudKit database. The original never leaves your iCloud.

Analysis of each photo

What forThe “% you / % world” split, the people in the picture (where each silhouette is and how much space it takes, and which one is you in photos with friends) and a few tags for the surroundings (beach, park, dog…). Used for your progress and stats.

WhereComputed on your iPhone with Apple’s Vision framework and stored with the photo. Nobody is recognised or identified: only silhouettes are detected. No photo is sent to a server to be analysed.

Notes, stickers and badges

What forCompleting your journal.

WhereWith the entry, on your iPhone and in your iCloud.

Health data (read only)

What forSteps, walking workouts and walking distance, to know when you have completed the 30-minute walk and to count kilometres for badges; and your sleep schedule, so the walk isn’t suggested when it’s time to sleep (rest mode).

WhereRead from HealthKit on your iPhone. At most the result (walk completed, kilometres) is saved in your journal. Never sent to a server of mine or to third parties, and Kyoru never writes to Health.

Approximate location of the selfie (optional)

What forPlacing the photo on the Map tab and stamping the countries in your Passport.

WhereTaken only while you use the app, at the moment of the selfie, with an accuracy of about 100 m, and saved with the entry on your iPhone and in your iCloud.

Place name and country

What forShowing “street, neighbourhood, city, country” instead of coordinates, and counting countries.

WhereRequested once from Apple’s geocoding service with those coordinates and saved in the entry. That request is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Passport in Apple Wallet (optional)

What forCarrying the countries you have stamped in Wallet.

WhereThe pass is generated and signed on your iPhone and stored in Wallet. It contains the number of countries, the latest stamp and the list of countries. It never goes through a server of mine.

Written reading of the photo

What forExplaining what the day’s split means.

WhereOn supported iPhones it is written by Apple Intelligence’s on-device model. On other devices it is fixed text shipped with the app.

Reminders, widgets, Live Activities and walk music

What forNudging you at the time you choose and showing the day’s and the walk’s status outside the app.

WhereReminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone; widgets read the day’s status from a shared space on the iPhone itself. The music is synthesised on device and doesn’t access your library. There is no notification server.

Public profile and published selfies (Kyoru Pro, optional)

What forShowing your path to other people on Kyoru (Explore tab, directory and map). It is opt-in and each selfie is published by hand.

WhereIn the public CloudKit database of the iCloud.com.fedegarlo.ego container, visible to other Kyoru users: your @, name, bio, a cover thumbnail and, for each selfie you publish, the processed image, its thumbnail, the day, the % of world, the note and, if the entry has one, the place name at city and country level only. If you turn on “Show where” — off by default — those selfies also carry the full place name (street, neighbourhood, city, country) and coordinates rounded to a little over a kilometre, never the exact spot. Turning it off removes the coordinates from what you already published and cuts its place names back to city and country.

Content reports

What forReviewing and removing anything that breaks the community guidelines within 24 hours.

WhereOnly if you report something. What is sent: the reported @, the selfie’s identifier, the reason, anything you write, your @ and your iCloud user identifier (so I can follow up), and the app and iOS versions. It is stored in the public CloudKit database, in a record only the developer can read, and in the moderation service at imprifyapp.com, which also records your device’s public key (see below) and the request’s IP address, and notifies me by email. The reported person is never told who reported them.

Removed-content list

What forMaking anything removed by moderation disappear for everyone.

WhereWhen you open the Explore tab, the app downloads from imprifyapp.com the list of removed selfies and closed accounts. The request is signed with a random key created on your iPhone (it is not an account, it isn’t synced and it is lost when you delete the app). To prevent abuse, the server keeps that public key, the IP address and app version of the latest request, how many requests and reports it has made and when it was last seen. It receives no photos, name, email, location or health data.

Accounts you block

What forSo you don’t see what they publish again.

WhereOn your iPhone and in your iCloud key-value store, so the block applies on all your devices. It doesn’t go anywhere else.

Permissions it asks for

All of them are optional, and Kyoru keeps working if you say no:

The subscription (Kyoru Pro)

Purchases are processed by Apple. To validate them and know whether Kyoru Pro is still active I use RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a customer identifier — anonymous at first and, once the app knows your iCloud user, one derived from the opaque identifier Apple gives the app for that user (it is not your email or your name), so your purchase follows you across devices — the App Store transaction data and basic technical device data (model, iOS version, language and storefront country). It doesn’t receive your photos, location or health data. Its privacy policy applies: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Who processes your data

I don’t sell or share your data with anyone else, and I don’t use it for advertising.

Legal basis and retention

Optional features (Health, location, public profile, “Show where”, Wallet) rely on your consent, which you withdraw by turning them off or removing the permission in iOS Settings. The subscription relies on the purchase contract. Moderation and abuse prevention rely on the legitimate interest of keeping the community safe. Your journal is kept until you delete it; published content until you remove it or delete your profile; reports and device records in the moderation service for as long as they are needed to moderate and prevent abuse, or until you ask for them to be deleted.

Deleting your data and your rights

The journal lives on your iPhone and in your private iCloud: delete entries in the app, or delete the app and its iCloud data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.

Published content can be removed selfie by selfie, or all at once from Explore › your profile › Delete my public profile, which deletes the public copies and the whole profile and frees your @.

You can ask me for access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction or portability of the data held by the moderation service by writing to support@imprifyapp.com. If you think your request wasn’t handled properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or your local authority.

Moderation before publishing

Before publishing, every photo goes through Apple’s sensitive content analysis on your iPhone, and texts (@, name, bio and note) through the app’s own filter. None of that leaves the device. Published content can be reported, and whoever publishes it can be blocked, from the menu of any selfie or profile; reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

Children

Kyoru is not directed to children under 13 and I don’t knowingly collect data from anyone that age. Publishing photos of minors on a public profile is not allowed.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date above. Important changes will also be mentioned in the release notes.

Kyoru

  • 第三者:Apple(iCloud/CloudKit、ジオコーディング、App Store)とRevenueCat(サブスクリプション)。

Apple Wallet

(Kyoru Pro)

RevenueCatのプライバシーポリシーが適用されます:revenuecat.com/privacy。
